Humane and effective, these sturdy baskets are superior to chicken or aviary wire for barring gophers from your plant's roots.
Just set the basket in the plant hole with the green wire above-ground to block the overland route. Put the plant inside, backfill with soil and you're done!
For initial planting of trees and shrubs, use the Root Guard Gopher Baskets instead of Gopher Wire. The Gopher Baskets are made with micro-fissures in them so they break down after 2-5 years. The root system can establish and then the basket breaks down and does not compromise mature growth of the roots.
Baskets available in other sizes, or in rolls of gopher wire
These gopher cages are perfect! They are big enough for full size barefoot rose bushes. They WILL keep the gophers away!! Very happy!!Review by JollyHolly (on 4/9/14)
Give your young bare root trees a fighting chance! It's worth the extra work and money to put your trees in gopher baskets. Gophers can wreak havoc on the roots.Review by Katie (on 12/19/12)
This basket is great and accommodated the roots of my large two year old bare root trees easily. Exclusion like these baskets are the only sure way to keep those gophers from eating tender tree roots.Review by Stephanie (on 12/17/12)
