Lucid Gem Tomato By Wild Boar Farms

Lucid Gem Tomato By Wild Boar Farms

Sweet with Fruity Tones, Best Heat Tolerance

Presenting 4-5 oz. beefsteak fruits, with good to very good production and a mid-mid/late maturation cycle. The flavor is exceptional—sweet with fruity tones, very meaty, and remarkably low in seeds. As the red/yellow interior sister of Blue Beauty, these tomatoes first ripen in a vibrant yellow hue, transitioning to an enticing orange when fully ripe. The black anthocyanin splashes create a striking contrast with the lighter-colored skin, making it visually attractive. Notably, it excels in heat tolerance, stays ripe on the vine, and exhibits excellent post-harvest storage ability.

Sustainably grown in 2.75" pots

Growing:

Soil Preparation:

Lucid Gem Tomatoes thrive in well-drained, fertile soil. Enhance the soil quality by incorporating organic matter such as compost. Aim for a slightly acidic to neutral pH level (5.6-7.0) for optimal growth.

Spacing:

Allow 18-24 inches between plants for adequate air circulation.

Support and Pruning:

Provide support early in the season to prevent sprawling. Regular pruning helps manage plant size and encourages fruit production.

Watering:

Maintain consistent moisture levels, preferring deep, regular watering. Mulch around plants to retain moisture and suppress weeds.

Fertilization:

Feed with a balanced, all-purpose fertilizer during transplanting and when fruits appear.

Maturation and Harvest:

Days to Maturity:

Lucid Gem Tomatoes typically mature in 75-80 days from transplanting. Harvest when tomatoes reach full color and show slight softness when gently squeezed. Colors intensify as tomatoes ripen, providing a visual cue for harvest.

Storage and Usage:

Store harvested tomatoes at room temperature until fully ripe. Use Lucid Gem Tomatoes fresh, in salads, or as a flavorful addition to various dishes.

Cultivating Lucid Gem Tomatoes is a rewarding experience for home gardeners. Follow these guidelines for proper care, monitor pests and diseases, and savor the vibrant colors and exquisite flavors of this unique tomato variety. Happy gardening!

Planting & Care

Soil and Water: Tomatoes love fertile soil rich in organic matter. Add plenty of compost prior to planting. Soil pH is preferred between 5.6-7.0. Mulch to preserve moisture. Avoid wetting the foliage when watering.

Planting and Growing: Provide ample spacing between plants, typically 18-24 inches, to facilitate proper air circulation and accommodate the potential for vigorous growth. Due to the potential for sprawling growth, offer support to Tomato plants early in the season. Staking or caging helps maintain an upright structure. Regular pruning can manage size and stimulate fruit production.

Harvesting and Storage: Harvest when fruits give slightly under finger pressure; the shoulders may not have changed color yet.
