Spear & Jackson Tools Since 1760, Spear & Jackson of Sheffield, England, has been hand forging garden tools to last a lifetime. Although more expensive, they are preferred because they do not bend or fail like cheaper pressed steel tools. A forged tool is strong because it is formed from one thick piece of metal in several re-heating operations. There are no welds or joints. Please note, however, that even a forged tool can be damaged if used inappropriately. For example, a fork could bend if used to pry up an embedded boulder that should be dug out with a shovel.

Okay, not great.

It's advertised as "neverbend", but the tines actually bend rather easily. It's stainless steel, which is nice, but a rather cheap (and easily bendable) alloy, made in China. I do like the sharpness of the tines, though, they're good for breaking up dirt clots.

Best tool for close weeding of young crops

I also ordered the Glaser 3.5" Stirrup Hoe.The perfect tool for getting in close to small things like young onions. Fast and easy, with little disturbance. Kinda like surgical weed removal.
