Been a few weeks now and the log is completely covered in white mold. There's 1 mushroom growing. Instructions are lacking in how to properly maintain it and how long to wait till mushrooms grow. What does it mean if mushrooms don't grow. The bag that the log was shipped in was supposed to be a tent to keep moisture in, didn't work well.

The mushroom block is okay. The instructions for how to get the block to sweat via the plastic bag it comes in are a little unclear. I've gotten maybe six or seven mushrooms off the block in about 2-3 weeks now. The mushrooms have huge, fat stems and medium-sized, very pale caps. Very different from other mushroom kits I've tried in the past. I'm not sure why fruiting has stopped. I'll keep trying.

I bought this kit in early September, 2018. Was really excited. Followed the instructions, kept it in a 75* - 78* room and waited. Got green mold. No mushrooms showing so I sprinkled it with the prescribed bleach water. It reluctantly cleared up. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. No mushrooms. Ever. Just green mold. It is January 2019 and I've pretty much given up hope. Sad and Disappointed.

Too soon to adequately review. This was purchased as a gift and we will hopefully be eating our first mushrooms this week.

Started a few oak logs of Shitakes ordered from PV .It took longer than expected to get the first harvest, but the Oak logs we inoculated produced sporadically for a few years after first fruiting. Hint. Our logs didn't start producing until it was accidentally left in a tub of water for a week.
