Herbed Grilled Cheese and Ham

Herbed Grilled Cheese and Ham

A sophisticated take on grilled cheese!

Directions

Butter one side of each slice of bread. Put them dry side down in a large frying pan or skillet on medium-low heat (you want the ingredients in the center to get warm without burning the bread). Place the ham on the buttered side of one of the pieces of bread so it heats up nicely. Snip up the herbs. This recipe is also very tasty with sage instead of oregano. Break up the cheese slices into quarters. When the butter on the top of the bread has started to melt, flip the bread over. Layer half the cheese, then the ham, sprinkle the herbs, and top with the rest of the cheese. Put the other slice on top, and if you have something like a bacon press, putting it on top helps the sandwich warm more completely. Flip carefully and brown the other side. Serve with salad or soup.
