Elephant garlic is a leek relative with mild garlic-onion flavor and large cloves. Organic and conventional options may be available; organic certification applies only to the Organic option.
Planting Elephant Garlic
Separate bulbs into cloves immediately before planting. Plant in fall in full sun and fertile, well-drained soil, leaving room for bulb development. Approximate harvest is early summer, but timing, bulb division and clove size vary with climate and growing conditions.
