Dolomite Lime Prilled (5 lb box)

Down To Earth™ Dolomite Lime supplies essential nutrients calcium and magnesium, and sweetens your soil (raises the pH) to improve plant growth and maximize fertilizer performance. Magnesium is the element that causes plants to be able to convert light into energy. Natural limestone is ground into an ultra-fine powder and then formed into uniform mini granules (prills) for easy spreading and rapid reaction time.

Dolomite is not a good choice for California foothill soils which are high in magnesium. Use oystershell lime or mined limestone instead.

Most garden plants prefer a soil pH between 6.0 and 7.0. Performing a complete soil analysis or using a soil pH home test kit before application is recommended.

• Provides a liming or calcium-bearing amendment for soils where testing indicates a need.
• Can support pH management and calcium availability when the material is suited to the soil’s existing chemistry.
• The dolomitic formulation also contributes magnesium, making a soil test especially useful before application.

Application guidance: Use a current soil test to determine whether lime or calcium is appropriate. Applying without test results can raise pH too far or create nutrient imbalances. Spread uniformly at the labeled rate, incorporate where directed, and allow time for reaction before retesting. Wear dust protection and other equipment specified on the package.
