Soil & Water: Thrives in very well drained alkaline soil in the full sun. Regular garden soil may be amended with ground limestone and sand.
Planting & Growing: In the spring, scarify seed by rubbing firmly on medium grid sandpaper and plant in pots or directly in the garden. Germination takes 1-2 weeks. Than or transplant to 1-2 feet spacing.
Harvesting & Storage:Harvest roots in fall of second year and thereafter. Thinly slice and dry for storage.
