Organic Parasitic Nematodes, Heterohabditis bacteriophora
Organic Parasitic Nematodes, Heterohabditis bacteriophora
Controls Grubs, Root Zone Weevils, Queen Ants/Termites and More!
The beneficial nematodes we sell are parasitic to insect pests that typically have a developing (larval or pupal) stage of life in the soil. They have been known to parasitize above ground stages of adults, nymphs and larvae. They will not harm mammals, aquatic life, birds, reptiles or amphibians. After being applied to the soil, the nematodes locate pests and enter through various body openings or directly through the body wall. Once inside, the nematodes produce bacteria that is injected into the pest's blood.
Beneficial Nematodes release the bacteria in order to create food and a hospitable environment for their own reproduction. As the food resources within the dead pest become scarce, the nematodes exit and immediately begin searching for a new host. As long as there is a suitable host, they will continue to survive and parasitize.
Heterohabditis bacteriophora nematodes are effective against stationary pests like grubs, root zone weevils, citrus weevils, Japanese beetles, black vine weevils, ticks, queen ants/termites, etc., especially in clay to silty loam, sandy to loamy soils, undisturbed soil.
- Use to control Ants (Queen), Asparagus Beetle (Crioceris asparagi; Crioceris duodecimpunctata), Bagworm, Banana Moth, Banana Weevil, Berry Root Weevil, Billbug, Black Vine Weevil, Borers (Iris, Tree, Vine), Carrot Weevil (Listronotus oregonensis), Chafers (European, Masked), Citrus Root Weevil, Colorado Potato Beetle (Leptinotarsa decemlineata), Corn Rootworm, Cranberry Root Weevil, Cucumber Beetle (Spotted) (Diabrotica undecimpunctata howardi), Flea Beetles, Fleas (Adults), Gall Midges, Grape Root Borer, Grubs, Humpbacked Flies, Japanese Beetle (Popillia japonica Newman), Leafminers, May/June Bugs (Phyllophaga sp.), Root Weevils, Scarabs, Sugarcane Stalk Borer, Sweet Potato Weevil, Ticks
- Treats up to 3,200 sq. ft.

Price DOES include delivery. Ships via FedEx 2 Day to a street address only (no Post Office box).
Insects are sent out Monday through Wednesday. Place your order at least 3 business days in advance of desired shipping date (Monday holidays will delay processing of order). Unless you specify otherwise, we will send your Beneficial Insects on the next possible shipping day. You could also request delayed delivery in the Order-Specific Comments box. We can only accept ship dates up to three weeks out.
These are shipped with cold packs in warm months. Do not be alarmed when the cold packs arrive warm or melted, as this will not affect the viability of the product. However, these creatures may die if left in direct sunlight or in a rural mailbox on a hot afternoon, or in cold weather. We only guarantee viability if someone accepts and inspects the insects immediately upon delivery. You must contact us immediately upon delivery if you suspect a viability problem.
Because of this, often the best address to use is a work address. If FedEx is instructed to leave the package in a cool, safe place and it’s for a short period of time, viability should not be compromised, but cannot be guaranteed. If no one is available and no instructions have been left, delivery may be re-attempted the next business day. However, viability may be compromised and will not be guaranteed.

from 9007 reviewsBringing alot of good pollinators
Growing great
Germination rate was nearly 100% plants are looking healthy looking forward to the harvest .
Fantastic product quick to germinate and covers the ground really well.
Arrived healthy and full of leaves!
Omg, omg,
This is such a delight we are so over the top... To be able to grow our own Oranges,oh my!!!!
Thank you arrived beautifully
Was just like the discrimination and then some. Nice size and all intact.. Would buy from again!
This is the best burlap I have ever had. Have purchased these 3 times. They're strong and hemmed, no strings hanging ever. They're great to shade veggies and keep heavy winds from blowing young plants over. Love 'em!
Great Stuff!
For the first time ever I will know what I planted at the end of the season! No fade & no running ink.
We get so many compliments about this flower. It looks like a small lily with tentacles or antennae. The flowers are so bright red, they really do pop. The curling of the petals gives this a unique look that really stands out! These are supposed to multiply so I'm excited to see this flower mature.
The deer in my area run out of food and will pretty much eat anything. Even things that should be deer-resistant. Something about this flower makes them think twice. This flower never gets eaten. Not only does this flower look beautiful it brings the pollinators. I'm going to plant more!
No flowers are visible yet, but the plants look very healthy. I'm excited to see them when they finally bloom.
This weeder is one of the best tools I have added to my collection. I have had other stand-up weeders. They all work great and eliminate the need to bend over. This one stands apart from the others with its 4 claw design. The extra claws give it extra grip for the hard weeds. I did not expect to use the weed ejector, but having that to drop the weeds into my bucket is a bonus. Forget about Grandpa, this is the one!
