Planting & Care

Soil and Water: Fertile, well-drained soil with a pH of 6.0–7.0 is best. 

Planting and Growing: Plant starts in late spring or early summer, once the soil has warmed up to at least 70°F (21°C).  Space plants 2 to 3 feet apart in rows spaced 4 to 6 feet apart to allow for adequate air circulation.

Harvesting and Storage: Harvest when the squash's rind is hard enough that you can't dent it with your fingernail and before the first frost. Cut fruits from vines, leaving 2" of the stem, and handle carefully. Sun cure for 5–7 days or indoors by keeping squash at 80–85°F with good airflow.
