Indoor grow.

The seeds I received looked great and sprouted nice. 11 of 12 germinated and are doing great. 6 inch plants in 3 weeks. We will see how the fruit comes out.

80-95% Germanation to Date!

I'm growing in Sonoma, California -- you've probably heard of it because of all the wildfires? -- So yeah... It's hot, and it's DRY in summer! I've tried other 'heat-tolerant' tomatoes before (like, Heatwave II), but BURBANK has become my go-to. The germination rate on my packet (for the past THREE YEARS, mind you!) has remained a near guarantee to sprout with each seed, and it has not gone down by year; the lower percentage ones (if you can really call 80% "low" when it comes to tomato seeds?), I knew that was human-error (forgot to turn the heating-mat back on two nights in a row).
I can only get up to my growing-space once (or sometimes twice?) in a week, so if something goes wrong with the irrigation (happens at least twice a summer) my plants can really take a hit. But BURBANK has consistently powered through such disasters with aplomb! Doesn't drop near as many blossoms and doesn't become so susceptible to blossom-end-rot as my VF ROMAs or SAN MARZANOs after an accidental dry-spell. It really can set fruit at crazy-high temperatures too. We get days above 100-degrees Fahrenheit fairly on the regular from July straight through August, but Burbank battles through it like a champ.
It might not be the *sweetest* tomato, but it's bright and slightly acidic taste is really sort of refreshing when trying to beat the heat!
