They’re cute, they’re tiny, and they’re pests. Chipmunks might be a beloved cartoon character, but real ones can seriously destroy your lawn
Fortunately, several chipmunk repellents are available to save your yard. Below are options for chipmunk repellents, deterrents, and removal.
Chipmunk Deterrent
Since chipmunks dig into your lawn and garden, it’s best not to use anything too loaded with chemicals.
If you want a powder or granular chipmunk deterrent, we recommend Plantskydd Rabbit & Small Animal deterrent. Its main ingredient is dried blood and will last through six months of winter.
This formula is also lawn, garden, and pet-friendly. However, don’t apply it to edible parts of veggies and always wash them before eating.
Chipmunk Repellent
If you’re looking to repel chipmunks without using dried blood, another option is Safer Critter Ridder Animal Repellent.
This product uses black pepper, piperine, and capsaicin, all scents that repel chipmunks, to keep them at bay.
We love this formula for chipmunk control, as it repels them with scent and taste instead of causing harm.
Chipmunk Removal
Aside from calling a professional to remove them, there are a few chipmunk removal methods:
· Trapping chipmunks and releasing them several miles away
· Electronic deterrents
· Get rid of piles of sticks, stones, etc.
If you’re serious, you can try getting a cat or luring owls to your yard - but we prefer to keep things more humane with the products above or natural removal methods. Rest assured that you’ll resolve your chipmunk issue without causing them any harm.
