Improves Efficiency of Nutrients & Water

MYKOS® mycorrhizae is a natural and organic species of beneficial soil fungi that create a "sponge-like" mass which collects and stores nutrients and water, increasing the uptake of both. This single species of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi contains only Rhizophagus intraradices, formally known as Glomus intraradices. MYKOS® does not contain any other microbes such as Trichoderma or ectomycorrhizae.

  • Rhizophagus intraradices 300 propagules/gram
  • Enhances root structures for added uptake capabilities
  • Fastest & most aggressive colonizing mycorrhizae
  • Improves efficiency of nutrients & water
  • Can increase yields & secondary metabolites
  • Great for vegetables, fruits, herbs & flowers

Mycorrhizae are natural symbiotic fungi that form beneficial relationships with plants, aiding in nutrient absorption and overall plant health. Mykos Mycorrhizae Granular, available in a 22 lb package, is a powerful tool for gardeners and growers looking to enhance the vitality of their plants and maximize their growth potential.

Understanding Mycorrhizal Symbiosis

Mycorrhizae are a type of beneficial fungi that establish a symbiotic relationship with plant roots. This relationship benefits both the fungi and the plants. The mycorrhizal fungi attach themselves to the plant's root system, forming a network that extends the plant's reach into the soil. This extended reach allows the plant to access nutrients and water more efficiently, ultimately leading to healthier and more robust growth.

Key Benefits of Mykos Mycorrhizae Granular

  1. Improved Nutrient Uptake: One of the primary advantages of using Mykos Mycorrhizae Granular is the enhanced nutrient uptake by plants. The mycorrhizal fungi create a vast network of fine threads called hyphae that extend into the soil, increasing the plant's ability to absorb essential nutrients like phosphorus, nitrogen, and micronutrients. This can result in healthier, more productive plants.

  2. Enhanced Drought Tolerance: Mycorrhizal associations can improve a plant's drought tolerance. The extended root network helps the plant access water from a larger area in the soil, making it more resilient during dry spells and reducing the need for frequent watering.

  3. Increased Disease Resistance: Mycorrhizae can also enhance a plant's resistance to certain diseases and pathogens by strengthening the plant's immune response and competing with harmful microorganisms for resources.

  4. Stress Reduction: Plants treated with Mykos Mycorrhizae Granular tend to be more resilient to environmental stressors such as high salinity or extreme temperatures, leading to better overall plant health.

Application Methods

Mykos Mycorrhizae Granular is easy to apply and can be used in various gardening and farming settings. Here are some common application methods:

  1. Transplanting: When transplanting seedlings or mature plants, apply Mykos Mycorrhizae Granular directly to the planting hole or mix it into the potting soil to establish a mycorrhizal network from the beginning.

  2. Seeding: When sowing seeds, mix Mykos Mycorrhizae Granular into the seedbed or furrow to ensure that young plants establish mycorrhizal associations as they grow.

  3. Container Gardening: For container gardens, simply incorporate the granular mycorrhizae into the potting mix at the recommended rate before planting.

  4. Established Gardens: For existing gardens, apply Mykos Mycorrhizae Granular by broadcasting it over the root zone of established plants. Water the area thoroughly to encourage the mycorrhizal fungi to establish connections with the plant roots.

Considerations When Using Mykos Mycorrhizae Granular

While Mykos Mycorrhizae Granular offers numerous benefits, it's essential to keep a few considerations in mind:

  1. Compatibility: Mykos Mycorrhizae Granular is compatible with most fertilizers and pesticides. However, it is best to avoid using fungicides that may harm the mycorrhizal fungi.

  2. Application Rate: Follow the recommended application rate provided on the product packaging or instructions to ensure optimal results.

  3. Soil Quality: Mycorrhizae are most effective in well-aerated, healthy soils. Ensure that your garden or planting area provides suitable soil conditions for the mycorrhizal fungi to thrive.

Mykos Mycorrhizae Granular is a valuable tool for gardeners and growers seeking to improve plant health, nutrient uptake, and overall crop productivity. By establishing beneficial mycorrhizal associations, this product can unlock the full growth potential of your plants, making it a valuable addition to any gardening or farming endeavor.

MYKOS® is a fast-growing, beneficial fungus that increases nutrient and water uptake by forming a symbiotic relationship with the roots of a plant. MYKOS® is needed to break down, cycle, and retain nutrients as well as provide a front line of defense against environmental stresses, pathogens, and diseases. MYKOS® will continue to grow with your plants becoming an extension of the roots and administering better efficiency and sustainability. With a larger and healthier root system, plants are given the opportunity to increase crop yields and secondary metabolites.

MYKOS® works fast and creates strong roots in 95% of common plants. MYKOS® is a single species of Endo-mycorrhizal fungi, Rhizophagus intraradices, eliminating any type of root competition. Why only Endo-mycorrhizae? Ecto-mycorrhizae has no beneficial effect on vegetables, fruits, flowers, and herbs.

MYKOS® helps new plantings reduce transplant shock by stimulating new root growth. MYKOS® forms hyphae that increase the root mass resulting in more absorption of nutrients and moisture. The fungal network can transport nutrients over large distances and deliver them directly into the root cell. Plants supply MYKOS® with energy in the form of carbohydrates that are produced during photosynthesis. Individual plants can become connected with other plants through this mycorrhizal network, sharing nutrients, sugars, and water as well as attracting more soil microbes.

MYKOS® protects your plants against drought & heat stress. As well as keeping harmful pathogens from making root contact. MYKOS® can also improve the soil structure both in clay soil and sandy soil. MYKOS® also helps break down organic compounds and convert them into plant available plant food.
