Opinel Folding Pruning/Harvest Knife Stainless Steel No. 10

Perfect Knife for Grape Harvesting

The Opinel Folding Pruning/Harvest Knife No. 10 combines traditional French craftsmanship with practical functionality for gardeners and small farmers. Its curved blade, beveled on both sides, makes it an excellent tool for grape-picking, shrub pruning, or cutting ties, ensuring clean cuts that protect plant health. Lightweight and easy to carry, it’s perfect for daily garden tasks and harvest work in both home and market gardens.

Made from corrosion-resistant stainless steel, the blade holds its edge for reliable, long-lasting performance. The comfortable varnished beechwood handle is sourced from sustainably managed forests, offering both durability and a natural feel in the hand. Opinel’s signature Virobloc safety ring locks the blade securely in the open position during use, adding peace of mind when working in the field. While it does not lock in the closed position, the knife folds easily for safe storage and transport.

Compact, durable, and designed for precision, the Opinel No. 10 is well-suited to organic and sustainable growing practices, reducing plant damage while streamlining pruning and harvesting. Always have this knife on me at the farm

Use it ALL the time! Durable, great knife for harvesting and well, everything. My only downside is when I lose one. I kick myself and then buy another (try NOT to lose it tho).

    Best. Gardening. Knife. Ever.!

The shape and sharpness of this knife is great! I use it for so much: weeding, pruning and harvesting in the garden, cutting string on hay bales, trimming vines, and on and on! Curved blade makes short work of it all! Quality craftsmanship and peaceful valley had easy ordering, timely shipping.

    Initial Review

First off, quick shipping and ease of ordering was top notch!
I have a lavender farm in Southern Utah and am trying to find a harvesting tool a little handier to use and carry than a hand sickle.
The Opinel is old school, simple quality. This is my first Opinel and unfortunately I won’t be able to test it on lavender until next season. I will try it out on wildcrafting Yerba Santa, herbs and conifers this winter.
Initially, it looks like what I have been looking for and I am anxious to use it. My only concern is the feel of the handle, it curves more to fit the blade and not the hand, it does have a certain way to grip it that is somewhat comfortable though. We will see! I spend many hours a day harvesting towards the end of May and June and will update my rating at that time.
