Chapin Drip Tape - 15 mil, 8" emitter spacing (500')
Chapin Drip Tape - 15 mil, 8" emitter spacing (500')
When Every Drop Counts
Drip tape must be used on low water pressure (approx 10 PSI), achieved by installing a pressure regulator (IRH819). The absolute max operating pressure for 15 mil is 35 PSI. At 10 PSI, this drip tape distributes 40 gallons per hour (GPH) per 100'. Every 2000' of drip tape requires a filter (IRF176 or IRF410) and a pressure regulator.
Features and Specifications:
- Multiple Inlet Orifices ensure a continuous water flow to each dripper.
- Turbulent Flow Path design provides larger internal dimensions offering higher resistance to clogging.
- Engineered extruded high quality polyethylene film ensures round sides providing higher resistance to insect bites and field abrasion.
- Off center outlets restricts water movement along the tape and ensures each drop falls to the soil.
- Slit design outlet will prevent root intrusion and soil ingestion.
- Longer flow path ensures true drip flow â no squirts.
- A low emitter exponent will ensure less flow and pressure variation on steep slopes to help increase emission uniformity.
- Lower winding tension to ensure less retraction in the field and avoid kinking and snaking during installation.
- The 5/8" size BTF model features multiple inlet filters.
- Good for 4-5 seasons.
Unlike other tapes, Chapin Tape has a unique extruded film profile with extra strength and thickness where it is needed most: the rounded tape edges that increase resistance to abrasion and insect damage.
With decades of proven performance, Chapin Tape provides consistently outstanding performance; premium performance for the most demanding applications.

We replaced our poly-tubing system with this drip tape. The hole spacing is nice. It soaks the soil at and around the plants nicely. We run this in straight lines along the rows of plants. At this point, nothing is clogged. It seems to be a great system. It recommends and we found that we need a pressure reducer. We bought and IRH819 to go with it.
I've been using this tape for years without ant problems but the last couple of batches like Frank below I have been having numerous seam blowouts.
For Kayo, to stop fitting from leaking I use 2 pairs of pliers to tighten fittings that seems to stop the leaking.
This is my 4th season a Chapin 15 mil installation and I’ve had four seam blowouts this month. My installation is 2” deep and never exposed to sunlight. Next time I’ll be trying the cascade brand which apparently has no seams and only costs a little bit more per roll. One undetected blowout on a 20 minute circuit @10gpm consumes a fair bit of water even if it only cycles through one time. I’ve made a pretty fair investment in repair couplings so far
I have reviewed your instructions on the site for putting on the connectors and ends caps. I got them wet and push the tape all the way up then screwed back the locking portion and they leak. Some not as bad as others. I have even wrapped the area with pipe thread seal tape and that fixes some of them, but many of them still leak. I feel like these waste a lot of water. I also have your 10 psi pressure reducer on the line. I think this product is very inconsistent. But I have it set up now so will live with it this season.
We've been using this drip tape for 3 weeks now and it's been working great! Our plants are sufficiently watered without wasting any of our precious high desert water. The tape does now and flex in the heat even with it being staked down, but I'm sure it will be fine once get it figured out.

I bought these seeds to go in bundles of packets of vegetable seeds that I will put in the Blessing Box at a church here in town about late January so people who need to can supplement the groceries they buy with a garden. I'm sure they will love them. If my budget stretches that far, I will get some for myself and let you know how I like them. I still have eight bundles worth of packets of seeds to purchase for them first, though.
Appreciate that you have this in bulk quantities. We use this as a rooting hormone and as a potting mix and soil supplement. Kelp meal is rich in minerals and micro-nutrients and contains growth hormones that support healthy root growth.
Helps me keep the ants down on my property. Place outside and keeps ants down even in your house.
I grow flats of this for my pet pigs, because of the high nutritional content. They love it. I find them waiting at the growing location every afternoon waiting for their fave. I've grown beautiful flats of pea sprouts and alfalfa for them too, but they turn up their snouts and walk away.
