Spear & Jackson Tools Since 1760, Spear & Jackson of Sheffield, England, has been hand forging garden tools to last a lifetime. Although more expensive, they are preferred because they do not bend or fail like cheaper pressed steel tools. A forged tool is strong because it is formed from one thick piece of metal in several re-heating operations. There are no welds or joints. Please note, however, that even a forged tool can be damaged if used inappropriately. For example, a fork could bend if used to pry up an embedded boulder that should be dug out with a shovel.

The Heritage line is inspired by the garden tools of yesteryear and maintains the same high quality. Tools come with a solid forged head, one-piece hardwood shaft and a 25 year guarantee. 43.5" tall, with a 32" handle and an 11.5" head.

Fabolous Tool

This digging fork is more expensive than others, though it's about two classes above the $50 forks. Sturdy, smooth wood handles, and a truly unbreakable set of tins. Very satisfied with this fork and should be using it for a long time.

Impressive quality

I bought one of these nearly then years ago. I oil the handle yearly and it is still going strong. I use it extensively in my large garden and am amazed by it's durability. Would have gone through 5 cheaper forks by now, so the price is not prohibitive in the least. Highly recommend, and greatly appreciate the fine craftsmanship put into these tools!

built to last

This is a tough durable tool for loosening soil, digging spuds, etc. Keep the handle oiled each year, I expect to use this many years.

Old school tool!

Fantastic high quality old school tool. The best price anywhere. Put a few more coats of lindseed or tung oil on the handle and it should last a lifetime
