Save water and time with a mechanical or electronic timer

Collection: Irrigation Timers–Set it & forget it!

Irrigation timers control when water starts and stops. Select a model by the number of outlets or zones, scheduling options, connection type, battery or power requirement, supported pressure and flow, weather-resistance guidance, and how programming is performed.

Compare timer types

  • Mechanical timers provide a manually started countdown and shutoff without a recurring electronic schedule.
  • Electronic timers can provide recurring schedules, multiple start times, or multiple outlets depending on the model.
  • Bluetooth models use a compatible app within the product's stated connection range; confirm device and operating-system requirements.

A timer does not determine how much water a planting needs. Adjust duration and frequency for weather, soil, root depth, plant growth, and observed moisture. Confirm whether the downstream irrigation system also requires a filter, pressure regulator, or backflow protection. See the drip irrigation resources for system planning.
