We'd love to see you at one of our workshops! We offer classes from local gardeners, authors & artists with topics ranging from growing apple trees, to drawing apples! Our workshop schedule is listed below.

Registration Required: In order to provide a more streamlined and organized experience to our customers, we will now be allowing registration through an online event site called Eventbrite. You can still call (530) 272-4769 ext. 106 to register for a workshop. If applicable, pre-payment is requested, but not required. Cash or check only. Make Your House Safe for Fire Season with Peter Hidalgo

Date & Time: Saturday, June 16, 2018, 10 am - 11 am   Cost: FREE!

This workshop will cover fire preparedness for Nevada County residents and Californians in general. What works and what does not work when it comes to defensible space. How proper planning can help to save your home and potentially help to save your community. How putting fire back on the ground can help mitigate large catastrophic fires and end with a Question and Answer session.

About Peter Hidalgo: Peter has worked several seasons on wild fires for the Forest Service on a hand crew. He currently works freelance as a GIS analyst for Incident Management Team. He is a local of Nevada county for the last 33 years and has been on numerous local fires in our area from small to large (i.e. King Fire - 97,000 acres).

Illustrate Your Harvest with Nicole Martinez

Date & Time: Saturday, August 25, 2018, 10 am - 11 am   Cost: FREE!

Learn the fundamentals on how to create a work of art, in the style similar to Peaceful Valley brand seed packs, from your harvest using colored pencils and pen. In this class we will be using a variety of peppers as our models. All skill levels welcome. Materials provided but feel free to bring your own colored pencils.

About Nicole Martinez: Nicole Martinez illustrates and designs the Peaceful Valley seed packs and catalogs. A graduate from Laguna College of Art and Design with a BFA in illustration, Nicole has been creating commercial art for eleven years with a passion for color, form, and composition.
