Each bloom in the Narcissus Double Blend offers its own variation of petal shape, fragrance, and texture. Unlike traditional single daffodils, these present a show-stopping form that mimics the look of peonies or garden roses. Their early bloom time adds vibrant color when few other flowers are awake, making them a seasonal favorite for color and cheer after the winter thaw.
Key Characteristics and Benefits of Narcissus Double Blend
- Deer and Rodent Resistant: Natural alkaloids in the bulbs deter common garden pests.
- Early Bloom Time: Fills the garden with color during late winter and early spring.
- Pollinator Friendly: Provides nectar and early food sources for bees emerging from dormancy.
- Low Maintenance: Grows well in a variety of conditions with little care required.
- Excellent Cut Flower: Fragrant, full blooms last well in vases and spring bouquets.
Growing Double Daffodil Bulbs
These hardy, perennial bulbs are easy to grow and thrive in various climates and soils, making them ideal for low-maintenance gardens.
Climate and Soil Requirements
Narcissus Double Blend performs best in USDA Zones 3–8 with well-drained, moderately fertile soil and full sun to partial shade.
Planting Time and Depth
Plant bulbs in the fall, 4–6 weeks before frost, about 5 inches deep and 2 inches apart, clustering in odd numbers for a natural look.
Sunlight and Watering
They prefer full sun but tolerate some shade; water thoroughly after planting and sparingly during spring unless it's unusually dry.
Care and Maintenance
Let foliage die back naturally, divide clumps every 4–5 years, and fertilize in fall and post-bloom to encourage future growth.

Use symmetrical groupings for formal settings or allow them to weave through paths with grape hyacinths and primrose for a cottage garden look; they also complement early shrubs like forsythia.
Complementing Other Bulbs
Pair with species tulips, anemones, and snowdrops for layered spring blooms, or follow with daylilies and hardy geraniums to sustain interest after the daffodils fade.

We guarantee the perishable items we sell to be in good, viable condition when we sell them. Perishable items include, but are not limited to, garlic bulbs, flower bulbs, seed potatoes, onion sets & transplants, potted or bare root trees, vegetable crowns, etc. If your perishable item arrives in substandard condition, take photographs and please contact us within 3 days of the purchase date (or delivery date) and we will provide you with a refund of the purchase price (excluding shipping costs), or a replacement. Accordingly, we urge you to open any boxes marked as ""Perishable"" immediately upon receiving them and inspect the shipment thoroughly (do not crack open heads of garlic, we do not accept claims on cracked garlic). Because some perishable items can deteriorate very quickly, we cannot accept any claims beyond the 3-day time frame as it becomes too difficult to determine if these items were delivered in substandard condition, or if they turned into such substandard condition because of having been improperly cared for or stored once delivered.

These daffodil bulbs arrived quickly and were healthy & firm with good heft. They were planted promptly--will see how the plants look in the spring and will revise my rating accordingly.
Daffodils are such an easy, great way to get tons of spring cheer! This mix is so pretty and a great assortment of color. If you're like me and have deer and gopher problems, Daffodils are the answer to your problems - neither critter will eat them!
