Sequoia Strawberry Plants by the Box (1500)
Sequoia Strawberry Plants by the Box (1500)
Botanical Berry Excellence
(Fragaria x ananassa 'Sequoia') is a distinguished strawberry cultivar admired for its botanical attributes and culinary potential.
Sequoia Strawberry plants are herbaceous perennials, displaying compact, bushy growth. Typically reaching 6-12 inches (15-30 cm) in height, these plants boast a similar spread, featuring medium-green, compound leaves comprised of three serrated leaflets. A dense rosette of foliage forms at the plant's base.
Sequoia strawberries produce medium to large-sized, conical-shaped berries. When fully ripe, they showcase a glossy, vivid red exterior, adding to their visual appeal.
Optimal growth conditions are instrumental in nurturing Sequoia Strawberries. Full sun exposure is preferred, though they exhibit tolerance for partial shade. Thriving with a minimum of 6-8 hours of direct sunlight daily, these plants are adaptable.
Soil quality is pivotal. Sequoia Strawberries flourish in well-draining, fertile soil with a pH level slightly leaning toward acidity to neutrality (around 6.0-6.5). Meticulous soil preparation is essential to promote robust growth and fruit production. To maintain healthy plants, consistent moisture is imperative, requiring regular watering to preserve the moisture balance without waterlogging.
Harvesting Sequoia Strawberries is a precise endeavor. Ripe strawberries are identified by their uniform, bright red coloration, an inviting aroma, and an effortless detachment from the stem with a gentle tug. Employing proper harvesting techniques preserves fruit quality and flavor.
Sequoia Strawberry Plants, cherished for their flavor, adaptability, and botanical charm, embody the harmony of horticultural elegance and culinary potential. Cultivating this esteemed variety promises a sensory and gastronomic experience, catering to the preferences of experienced horticulturists and individuals embarking on their gardening journey alike.

Strawberries are extremely adaptable and are grown in every state in the U.S. Plants generally grow 6-8" tall and 12" across, are shallow-rooted, and benefit from mulch such as straw, pine needles, or plastic. Prefer a soil rich in all the basic nutrients with a pH of 6 to 6.5. Susceptible to root rot and must be planted in well-drained soil, with crown set at soil level. Yield under the best of conditions is about one basket per plant per season.
June Bearers generally produce a single large crop in spring to early summer (as early as March in warmer regions) and are prolific producers for 3 to 4 weeks. Pick the blossoms off June bearers the first year to boost production the second year.
Everbearers are not as prolific as June bearers but are especially suitable for growers who wish to harvest a constant supply of berries throughout the summer. Plant some of both to have a large harvest to preserve, and plenty to eat all summer!
