Planting & Care

Soil & Water: The plant likes full sun, moderate water, and prefers to grow in a well-fertilized soil (chicken manure).A side dressing of compost or more manure will really boost yield.

Planting & Growing: Sow seed in the spring or early summer in flats or in a fine seed bed. Press hard into surface (light dependent germinator) and keep warm and evenly moist until germination. Germination in 10 to 14 days. Transplant outdoors or thin seedlings to 1 to 2 foot spacing.

Harvesting & Storage: Harvest leaves at 2 week intervals or cut and hang to dry. Care need be taken in drying as too rapidly compromises aroma and flavor, while too slowly may develop mold.
