O'Conners Strawberry Clover - Nitrocoated Seed (lb)

Low Growing Clover for Orchards

Trifolium fragiferum Perennial legume cover crop.

Dwarf Strawberry Clover is a compact perennial clover valued for its lush growth and attractive strawberry-shaped blooms. Growing to just 10 inches tall, it provides year-round ground cover in full sun to light shade. This versatile clover is ideal for landscaping—often paired with White Alyssum for striking contrast—as well as for orchards and vineyards where irrigation is available. Beyond its ornamental appeal, it supports soil health by fixing nitrogen and creating a dense, living mulch that suppresses weeds and reduces erosion.

  • Application Rate: 0.25–0.5" deep at 0.5–1 lb/1,000 sq ft or 12–15 lb/acre
  • Inoculant: None needed, seed is nitrocoated
  • Germination: 5–10 Days
  • Plant Height: 10"
  • Uses: Landscaping, ground cover, orchards, vineyards (with irrigation)
  • Facts to Note: Less heat- and alkali-tolerant than Palestine Strawberry Clover but grows well on most soils. Best planted in fall or spring.

Note to Certified Organic Growers: All our cover crop seed is untreated and non-GMO. Although this is conventional seed, it is coated with Nitro-Coat, a specialized coating made with rhizobacteria, naturally water-absorbing calcium carbonate to speed germination, and an organic adhesive.
