Oregon Sugar Pod Pea Seeds (Organic)
Crisp pods, early harvests.
Oregon Sugar Pod Pea is a standout snow pea variety, celebrated for its tender, sweet pods and early, abundant harvests. This highly productive plant thrives in full sun and well-draining soil, reaching maturity in just 60-65 days, making it one of the earliest crops to enjoy in the growing season. The vines grow to about 3 feet tall and are best supported with trellises or stakes to ensure easy harvesting. Oregon Sugar Pod produces flat, crisp pods that are ideal for fresh eating, stir-fries, salads, and steaming. The pods are stringless, making preparation quick and easy, while their refreshing sweetness adds a burst of flavor to any dish. This variety is also resistant to common pea diseases, such as powdery mildew and pea enation virus, ensuring vigorous, healthy growth throughout the season. Its cold-hardiness makes it an excellent choice for early spring or fall planting, allowing for multiple harvest opportunities. With regular picking, the plants will continue to produce pods over an extended period, providing a consistent supply of fresh, nutritious peas. Oregon Sugar Pod Pea’s exceptional flavor, ease of cultivation, and reliable yields make it a favorite for home gardeners and chefs alike.

Planting & Care
Soil & Water: Peas are not particular about soil, but prefer those with plenty of added organic matter and a pH of 5.5-6.8. Provide moderate water until bloom, then lower the water rate.
Planting & Growing: Peas perform best in cool weather between 60-75F; growing season may be extended using shade cloth or frost fabrics. Presoak seeds to help prevent disease and to speed germination. Oregon Sugar Pod peas are resistant to pea enation virus, wilt, and powdery mildew.
Harvesting & Storage: Peas are usually ready for harvest about 3 weeks after the flower appears and before peas are fully developed in the pods. This variety is best when the pods are 4" long. Regular picking extends production.

These seeds have been great year after year with positive results in a variety of soil conditions.
Great variety of seeds at a great price. Been using them for years with great results.
I live in the suburbs of Chicago and planted the seeds about two weeks ago. They have already sprouted and are looking good! I felt it was a little early to plant due to frost potential but should time just right before it gets too here.
I have not grown them yet but will be planting them soon. they arrived quickly and in great condition.
Created an account just so I could rave about these peas. The two plants I planted in November (zone 10a) have been giving us a good handful of delicious fresh pods just about every day of March and still going strong in April. They take up very little space, don't require much attention and are growing happily through the changeable weather we've had this year. My husband thinks I'm a garden boss now - I wish I could give them more than five stars!
