Mexican Tarragon Seeds (Organic)

Mexican Tarragon Seeds (Organic)

Bold flavor, hardy herb.

Mexican Tarragon is a hardy, heat-tolerant herb prized for its aromatic, anise-flavored leaves and cheerful yellow flowers. The slender, dark green leaves have a bold, licorice-like flavor, making them an excellent substitute for French tarragon in recipes. Thriving in full sun and well-draining soil, Mexican Tarragon grows quickly, reaching about 18-24 inches tall. This perennial herb is both ornamental and functional, producing bright, marigold-like blooms that attract pollinators and add color to garden beds or containers. Mexican Tarragon is drought-tolerant and easy to grow, making it a reliable choice for hot or dry climates. Regular pruning encourages fresh growth and ensures a continuous supply of flavorful leaves throughout the growing season. Whether you’re using it to flavor sauces, soups, and teas, or growing it for its beauty, Mexican Tarragon is a versatile and rewarding addition to any garden. Add this fragrant and vibrant herb to your herb collection for a touch of bold flavor and ornamental appeal.

Tarragon - Mexican - Tagetes lucida

Tender Perennial grown as Annual Heirloom. Yellow-orange flowers top the branches of this Mexican native from the marigold family. Long leaves are even more flavorful than French Tarragon, with more anise. Use as a spice in egg, chicken, and meat dishes, or with steamed green beans. Grows well in hot climates where French Tarragon does not survive.

Tarragon seeds

I tries the tarragon seeds 2 different ways. Under a LED light and direct sow. Neither one germinated. I had no trouble getting all of my other deeds to germinate, so I'm not quite sure what I'm doing wrong

No Luck

I tried these seeds in a small flower pot and in the garden but had no luck. Nothing sprouted.

Awesome

I planted these in my seedling tray under an LED light I just purchased, and they sprouted within days! I am excited to cultivate my own Tarragon! I have never used an LED light, and I was concerned because it was a cheaper one, but these seedlings love it.
