San Marzano Tomato Seeds (Organic)

San Marzano Tomato Seeds (Organic)

Rich flavor, ideal for sauces.

San Marzano Tomato is an heirloom variety renowned for its rich, sweet flavor and dense, meaty texture. The oblong fruit grows to about 3-4 inches long and is prized for its low seed count and thick flesh, making it perfect for sauces, canning, and slow-cooked dishes. Originating from Italy, this tomato is a favorite among chefs and gardeners for its authentic flavor and culinary versatility. Thriving in full sun and nutrient-rich, well-draining soil, San Marzano plants are indeterminate, producing fruit continuously throughout the growing season. Maturing in about 80-85 days, the plants are vigorous and require staking or caging for support. Known for their disease resistance and productivity, San Marzano Tomatoes perform well in both traditional gardens and raised beds. Whether you’re preserving a bountiful harvest for winter or creating fresh marinara sauce, this variety delivers unmatched quality and taste. Its heritage, ease of growth, and superior flavor make it a must-have for any tomato lover’s garden.

Planting & Care

Soil & Water: Tomatoes love fertile soil rich in organic matter. Add plenty of compost prior to planting. Soil pH is preferred between 5.5-7.0. Soak the soil 4-6" deep at 7-day intervals. Mulch to preserve moisture. Avoid wetting the foliage when watering.

Planting & Growing: Sow seeds in flats 6-8 weeks before the last frost and thin to 2" apart after the first true leaves appear. Before transplanting after the last frost, harden off the plants by placing them outdoors for a few hours to start, increasing the amount of time each day until they are accustomed to a full day of sunlight.

Harvesting & Storage: Harvest when individual fruits give slightly under finger pressure.

Interesting tomato

Love that this does well in hot climates. I got this for my niece who lives in a hot and humid area of the country, but has had problems growing tomatoes. She is excited to try this out.
