Biochar Soil Amendment (1 yd Tote)
Best Biochar on the Market to Improve Soils
Black Owl Biochar is a porous carbon soil amendment produced from sustainably managed, untreated forest wood waste by high-temperature pyrolysis. This bulk one-cubic-yard tote is intended for larger garden, landscape, or farm projects. The carbon-rich particles provide surfaces that can hold moisture, nutrients, and soil organisms after incorporation.
Fresh biochar can adsorb nutrients, so the product record recommends “pre-charging” it before planting. Mix it with finished compost, worm castings, an appropriate fertilizer, humates, mycorrhizae, soil microbes, or compost tea, then allow the blend to sit for one to two weeks. Alternatively, incorporate the ingredients into the bed, irrigate, and wait before planting. Application rates should follow current product directions and site conditions.
Use and Organic Status
Mix biochar evenly through the target soil volume and avoid leaving concentrated pockets around roots. The record lists WSDA organic-use status. Review current documentation and confirm acceptance with your organic certifier before use.
