I have used this over several applications now and have some updates to my earlier review, yes it still works. It’s not a one-and-done application, weeds will come back so you have to reapply, which affects the economics of using it.
I think the concentration needs to be a little stronger to work best. Yes, you need to constantly mix this while spraying but if you use a backpack sprayer it will get jostled around while you walk and that is enough to keep the mix in suspension.
Won’t work on grasses, or any weed that doesn’t have a broad enough leaf to achieve saturation coverage. I have sprayed at different times of the day in varied weather conditions and the only guidance I will give is that it works best to spray in the morning after any overnight moisture has dried off.
Absolutely wear gloves. I got this on my hands during my first spraying experience with it and in the webbing of my fingers I got a pretty good chemical burn that lasted 4 days. I’m really careful with handling this now and have a better understanding of how it works as a result.
I got some on my hands while clearing my spray pump and they burned for over 12 hours. Other than that, this product works and has a pleasing smell.
works very well with a sticker/spreader solution to get rid of bindweed. Does not work on thistle or knapweed as well. The whole farm smells great after spraying.
The product Weed Zap works well, but I find I have to mix it a bit more concentrated than the directions state in order for the weeds to really be "Zapped". The solution has to be agitated every few minutes in the sprayer in order to keep it evenly mixed.
Weed Zap will kill suckers in my hazelnut orchard -- a great improvement over hand clipping. Note: it has to be kept mixed in the sprayer; it's oil-based & mixed w/ water.
