Description
Nocellara del Belice olive
Nocellara del Belice is a Sicilian cultivar grown for both table olives and oil. The tree has modest-to-medium vigor with a broad crown and large green leaves. Its relatively large fruit is typically harvested green for curing, though it can also be processed for oil.
Plant in full sun and well-drained soil. Avoid chronically wet soil, and water consistently while the root system establishes. Fruit size, crop load, and harvest timing vary with climate, tree age, irrigation, and care.
Pollination and harvest
Olive pollination is cultivar-specific and depends on overlapping bloom. A second olive such as Pendolino or Frantoio may improve fruit set when bloom overlaps, but regional compatibility and bloom weather still matter.
Planting and care
Choose a full-sun site with excellent drainage. Dig a hole no deeper than the root ball and wider than the container. Set the tree at the same soil level it had in the pot, backfill with native soil, and water thoroughly. Keep the root zone evenly moist during establishment without leaving it waterlogged.
Prune lightly to develop a balanced canopy and remove dead, damaged, or crossing growth. Mature size, flowering, harvest timing, and crop size vary with climate, tree age, pruning, pollination, water, and care. Container-grown trees require more frequent irrigation and periodic root and canopy management.
Olives are bitter directly from the tree and must be cured before eating. See our olive growing guide, shop olive trees, or browse all potted fruit trees.
Its relatively large fruit and dual table-and-oil use distinguish Nocellara del Belice from smaller oil-focused cultivars.

We guarantee the perishable items we sell to be in good, viable condition when we sell them. Perishable items include, but are not limited to, garlic bulbs, flower bulbs, seed potatoes, onion sets & transplants, potted or bare root trees, vegetable crowns, etc. If your perishable item arrives in substandard condition, take photographs and please contact us within 3 days of the purchase date (or delivery date) and we will provide you with a refund of the purchase price (excluding shipping costs), or a replacement. Accordingly, we urge you to open any boxes marked as ""Perishable"" immediately upon receiving them and inspect the shipment thoroughly (do not crack open heads of garlic, we do not accept claims on cracked garlic). Because some perishable items can deteriorate very quickly, we cannot accept any claims beyond the 3-day time frame as it becomes too difficult to determine if these items were delivered in substandard condition, or if they turned into such substandard condition because of having been improperly cared for or stored once delivered.

Tree arrived in good condition and ready to pot. It has since grown some new shoots and we are looking forward to it maturing. Great price.
The tree arrived securely, and I immediately planted it in a 5 galon pot. It is thriving now, and I hope to plant it in the ground probably next year, or the year after the next. Four different olive varieties that I bought three years ago from this same site are already bearing much olives, from which I cured many jars and I am already enjoying them. This website is my first trusted venue to buy trees that I could not find in the nursery store.
The little olive tree arrived in perfect shape - great packing job. It looks healthy and strong - I don't expect to have any issues with it, since all of the items that I have purchased from Peaceful Valley have done well. I'm happy to have found this rather hard-to-find item grown organically for our school garden.
Came quickly and seems healthy, very soon to tell but so far so good.
Olive tree arrived quickly and in good shape. This specific tree is a fairly hard to find. Good online resources.
For hard to find trees and plants I will definitely use you again.
