The floating row cover works well.
But the other item I ordered, one pound of rye & purple vetch seeds, never grew, even tho I sprouted half the seeds before planting, nothing ever came up.
Agribon Ag-19 Floating Row Cover
This cover is quute nice. Keeps bugs away if anchored properly.
Will order again when needed.
Bought this to keep the insects and squirrels out but it also seems to be keeping the water out too... Water was beading and pooling so it does not seem that rainwater will get through if it rains, which means I will have to water even if it rains. Bummer!
Agribon 19 is an essential tool for me. I cover my greenhouse frame with it in the late spring, when the winter plastic comes off. Light, airy and bright, it also drapes under and over the wire cages I start seedlings in, makes instant awnings outdoors against the too-hot summer sun, easily creates stand-alone greenhouse spaces – I bend whips from fruit tree prunings into hoops over large flowerpots, covered wagon style. and clip the fabric to the edges of the containers. it keeps varmints from digging up seedlings and keeps succulents alive through the winter.
I don't use those funny plastic fasteners that are sold with it, prefer office-style clips of various sizes to tailor the fabric to fit. I make simple, roll-up curtains of Agribon for the big windows on my back porch, to create insulating air pockets - keeps pets comfortable year-round. It is so light and durable that I can hang the curtains with thumbtacks.
Agribon will last for several years. It folds up and stores small. You can wash it in the washing machine, or hang it on the line and squirt it clean with the garden hose. It also makes great Halloween ghosts and costumes!
Thanks, Grow Organic. The Agribon fabric is great. not quite as porous with sporadic rainfall as thought but still excellent protection and temperature regulation.
