Summer Peaches Alyssum Flower Seeds

Summer Peaches Alyssum Flower Seeds

Fragrant Salmon Colored Carpet

Alyssum - Summer Peaches - Lobularia maritima

Hardy Annual - The tiny scented clusters of Summer Peaches quickly form a ground-covering tapestry of pastel blossoms in soft peachy tones. Easy to grow and fast to bloom, Summer Peaches is perfect to carpet rose or bulb beds, unify and fill in containers, or soften borders and garden edges. Alyssum's honey scent perfumes the air all summer and it's sweet nectar is a magnet for butterflies and beneficial insects.

Planting & Growing:Sow seeds as thinly as possible in early spring in well-worked soil in a sunny spot. Cover 1/4" deep and keep evenly moist while awaiting germination. Thin or transplant carefully 3 - 4" apart when seedlings are large enough to handle, or before they become crowded so these fast-growing plants have room to mature and spread. In mild winter areas, sow Gulf Winds alyssum in the fall around bulbs, in containers or to cover bare areas. Plants overwinter to bloom all spring in a pretty carpet of pastel shades.

Harvesting & Storage: Plants stay compact and don't get rangy. After the first flushes of intense flowering are over, cut plants back halfway to re-bloom abundantly.

Soil Temperature: above 50°F
Planting Depth: Very lightly
Germination: 10-14 Days
Height At Maturity: 4-6"
Sun/Shade: Full Sun
