5 X 8" Anderson Band

5 X 8" Anderson Band

Healthy Roots, Abundant Growth

At the core of the Anderson Pot's functionality lies its open cross bottom, a feature deliberately incorporated to facilitate air pruning of roots. This critical process encourages the formation of a healthier root system by deterring the growth of entangled or circling roots. Through air pruning, the tree's roots become more robust, ensuring enhanced nutrient absorption and overall vitality.

Primarily employed for the propagation and bedding of tree growth, the 5 x 8 Anderson Pot serves as a great tool for horticulturists and arborists alike. Its construction allows for repeated use, making it a cost-effective choice for the cultivation of trees.

My favorite pots in this size

I like andersen pots and bands. They are space efficient, durable and relatively stable. As little space as possible is wasted by the usual unnecessary taper that makes pots less stable. These have a relatively large footprint. When stacked in blocks on the ground, weeds pretty much can't grow between them either. If I'm not using the trays they are intended to be used with, I put a piece of burlap, old shade cloth, etc in the bottom to hold soil in. I do wish they made a version with a bottom and holes. I'm also a fan of all the sizes below this one for the same reasons.
