Gardeneer by Dalen Season Starter Early Season Plant Protector (3/pk)

Gardeneer Season Starter Plant Protectors use water-filled vertical cells to moderate temperature around young transplants. Each protector stands approximately 17 inches high by 18 inches in diameter and holds about three gallons of water. Sun warms the water during the day, and the stored heat is released gradually as nighttime temperatures fall.

Set the protector in place before transplanting or use a bucket to hold it upright while filling each cell. Performance depends on sun, wind, water level, and the severity and duration of cold; continue monitoring forecasts and add other protection when temperatures exceed the product’s practical limits. Provide ventilation as conditions warm, keep plastic away from hot surfaces, and inspect for leaks before reuse. Empty, rinse, dry, and fold the protectors for storage after the season.
