All the sunflowers I planted last season germinated and they did extremely quickly, most in 3 days! I didn't get to salvage many seedlings as i lost most of them to rabbits and deer (not the seeds fault). Out of the 4 plants I did manage to save and get to bloom, 3 were standard yellow, but one was a gorgeous autumnal red hue. I attached a picture of that one because that was by far the most striking sunflower color I've ever seen. With deadheading, I was able to enjoy blooms until mid October in Southern Indiana. Great pollinator attractors, bumblebees and hummingbirds love them as they bloom and wild birds love eating the seeds as the heads die. Also these are huge plants, they get to probably 12-15 feet.
