Avalanche Pea Seeds
Flavorful Compact Crop
The Avalanche Pea, originating from Europe, is a notable cultivar appreciated for its exceptional flavor and productivity. This cultivar doesn't have distinct subspecies but is highly regarded for its reliability and consistent yield.
Characterized by its compact growth habit, this pea plant exhibits a bushy appearance adorned with lush, deep green foliage, presenting a visually appealing addition to any garden. The vibrant leaves signal the imminent development of pea pods.
The pods of the Avalanche Pea encase tender, succulent peas with a delicate sweetness. These peas offer a pleasing texture and a mildly sweet taste, perfect for fresh consumption, salads, or light cooking, infusing dishes with freshness and flavor.
For successful growth, the Avalanche Pea thrives in well-drained, fertile soil enriched with organic matter. Sow the seeds directly into the ground when the soil temperature reaches about 45-75°F (7-24°C) for optimal germination.
Consistent watering during germination and early growth stages is vital for robust plant development. Employing a trellis or support structure aids in the plant's growth, allowing it to flourish and produce peas more effectively.

Soil & Water: Peas are not particular about soil, but prefer those with plenty of added organic matter and a pH of 5.5-6.8. Provide moderate water until bloom, then lower the water rate.
Planting & Growing: Peas perform best in cool weather between 60-75F; growing season may be extended using shade cloth or frost fabrics. Presoak seeds to help prevent disease and to speed germination. Progress #9 is wilt resistant. Its dwarf vines require no staking.
Harvesting & Storage: Peas are usually ready for harvest about 3 weeks after the flower appears and before peas are fully developed in the pods. Regular picking extends production.

from 9231 reviewsThe cute packaging caught my eye first. I love you can open it up sprinkle in the seeds you need to use, and then close it up for another time. It is compact and cute. I am eager to harvest my greens.
One of my favorites to grow…always get a good yield out of this one and the flavor is just…YUM!
I received these in August and they have braved the heat of the past 2 months. I have continued to water them to ensure they live. One tree looks much better than the other, although I see buds ready for next year on both. I can't wait for spring to see blooms, leaves and branches to begin.
huge bulbs made up of huge cloves; perfect quality for planting - very firm and paper in tact.
My order was prompt and just what I expected.
I purchased Elephant and Music garlic bulbs to plant in my zone 7 garden. They arrived as firm, healthy bulbs.

I have been ordering shallots from Grow Organic for a couple of years now. I had some problems with the shallots, I have to say they have the best customer service. I am a Master Gardener and have ordered 100's of different veggies seeds for years at many different companies as I buy seeds for the Master Garden's and never have experience such great customer service.
