Description
Description
Bird Netting in the 7-foot by 100-foot size is a long mesh barrier for crop rows, trellised berries, vines, espalier plantings, or a series of small fruit trees. It excludes birds physically rather than relying on noise, reflection, bait, or a chemical treatment. The narrow roll can be cut to project length and supported over repeated garden sections, making it practical for seasonal installations with consistent width.
Measure the full run, including overlaps and anchoring allowance, before cutting. Use hoops, posts, wires, or another frame to hold the mesh away from foliage and ripening fruit. Tension the net evenly and secure the bottom, ends, and every seam so birds cannot enter underneath. Avoid loose pockets and dangling edges that could entangle birds or other wildlife. Check the barrier after wind, pruning, irrigation work, and plant growth; repair openings and free any unintended capture immediately. Delay coverage until pollination is complete when bees or other pollinators still need crop access. For harvest, create a deliberate access panel rather than repeatedly pulling unsecured netting aside. Clean, dry, and roll usable sections for storage after the risk period.

This netting protects young seedlings from being devoured by birds and it doubles as support for top-heavy flowers during the season. I use it across my planting bed and secure it to stakes. Great value here too, I recommend it to anyone growing a cutting garden!
I used this on my bare root fruit trees to keep the birds from eating all my fruit. It does the job well.
