Description
Description
Pink Icing is a compact blueberry that brings ornamental color and an edible summer crop to patios, small gardens, and mixed landscapes. The mounded shrub produces large berries with a sweet, robust blueberry flavor. Its foliage opens in shades of pink mixed with blue and deep green, then may develop striking turquoise-blue color during colder weather, giving the plant interest beyond harvest season.
- Plant form: One potted blueberry, approximately 2 years old
- USDA zones: 5–10
- Chill requirement: Approximately 500 hours
- Mature habit: Mounded and approximately 3–4 feet tall
- Harvest: Summer, with exact dates determined by climate
- Fruit: Large berries with sweet, full, robust blueberry flavor
- Foliage: Pink, blue, and deep-green spring tones with possible turquoise winter color
Pink Icing is self-fruitful, so one plant can set berries without a dedicated pollinizer. A second compatible blueberry blooming at the same time may further improve fruit quality or production, but it is optional. If adding a partner, prioritize local bloom overlap and a cultivar suited to the same 500-hour winter-chill environment rather than relying only on harvest season. Compare options in the blueberry collection.
For a container, choose an acidic planting mix and a pot with dependable drainage, then keep the root ball evenly moist without leaving it submerged. A larger container buffers roots against fast drying and temperature swings as the plant matures. In the ground, provide full sun, soil near pH 4.5–5.5, organic mulch, and freedom from competing turf. Foliage color varies with climate and season, so regard the crop and compact form as the dependable features. Review the blueberry growing guide for long-term feeding, moisture, and pruning care.

We guarantee the perishable items we sell to be in good, viable condition when we sell them. Perishable items include, but are not limited to, garlic bulbs, flower bulbs, seed potatoes, onion sets & transplants, potted or bare root trees, vegetable crowns, etc. If your perishable item arrives in substandard condition, take photographs and please contact us within 3 days of the purchase date (or delivery date) and we will provide you with a refund of the purchase price (excluding shipping costs), or a replacement. Accordingly, we urge you to open any boxes marked as ""Perishable"" immediately upon receiving them and inspect the shipment thoroughly (do not crack open heads of garlic, we do not accept claims on cracked garlic). Because some perishable items can deteriorate very quickly, we cannot accept any claims beyond the 3-day time frame as it becomes too difficult to determine if these items were delivered in substandard condition, or if they turned into such substandard condition because of having been improperly cared for or stored once delivered.
