Coco Peat (12 kg Brick)

Superior Water Holding Capacity

This Coco Peat 4.5 cu. ft. brick is a high-performance, eco-friendly alternative to traditional peat moss. Made from natural coconut husk fibers, it’s also known as coconut coir brick, coir peat brick, coconut peat, or coconut coir peat—ideal for sustainable gardening, seed starting, and soil improvement.

These compressed coco coir bricks expand when hydrated, delivering excellent water retention, aeration, and disease resistance. Perfect for greenhouses, raised beds, worm bins, erosion control, and more.

Key Features

  • Expands to ~4.5 cu. ft. from a compact brick
  • Holds 8–9x its weight in water for consistent moisture
  • pH range: 5.7–6.8 with a neutral pH ideal for most plants
  • Improves soil structure with great drainage and aeration
  • Biodegradable and renewable — sourced from Sri Lanka & India
  • Multiple uses: seed propagation, container gardens, composting

How to Use

  1. Place the coconut coir brick in a large container.
  2. Add water slowly—brick will expand fully.
  3. Mix with soil or use on its own (typical mix: 30% coco peat, 70% soil).

superior product

These coco coir bricks are fabulous for the garden and for helping our soil here in the dry and hot southwest in retaining much needed moisture. I highly recommend this product for all serious gardeners.

high quality economical coir

I have been searching for a cheaper way of getting coco coir for my potting/soil block mix. Smaller bricks add up fast in shipping costs if you use larger quantities and cheaper products are often have rocks or lots of long fiber chunks. I screen my coir through 1/4" wire and there has been very little that won't pass through with this coir. I am very satisfied with it so far!

First time user and quite happy so far

I bought this coconut coir to help rejuvenate old potting soil which I used to just till into the garden. With coir and added nutrients, the old potting soil is good as new, and much more loose and friable than new soil after a couple of months of watering. I even tried it for growing potatoes (an unusual endeavor for the New Mexico climate) and the plants are growing just great, although it's still early in the season. It holds water well and the tubers should be free to expand when they start to bulk up.
