Description
Gold Nugget Tomato is a delightful cherry tomato variety celebrated for its small, golden-yellow fruit and mild, sweet flavor. Each plant produces an abundance of round, 1-inch tomatoes that are perfect for snacking, adding to salads, or garnishing dishes. Thriving in full sun and well-draining soil, Gold Nugget Tomatoes are determinate, maturing in just 55-65 days, making them an excellent choice for early harvests. The plants are compact yet highly productive, delivering consistent yields throughout the season. Their thin skin and juicy texture make them a favorite for fresh eating, while their bright color adds visual appeal to any meal.

Plan Gold Nugget Tomato as a warm-season crop. Start seed in a protected setting when local timing allows seedlings to reach transplant size after frost danger has passed. Provide strong light and avoid keeping the root zone continuously saturated. Use the recorded spacing and add support if the growth habit requires it. Check fruit as it changes color and firmness, then harvest at the stage suited to its intended kitchen use. Seasonal conditions can shift actual maturity.
Gold Nugget Tomatoes are also well-suited for container gardening, making them a versatile choice for gardeners with limited space.
With their sweetness, quick growth, and ease of cultivation, this variety is a useful addition for any tomato lover.
Before sowing Gold Nugget Tomato, review the packet alongside the current product details and note any range in temperature, germination, or maturity. Ranges reflect biological and seasonal variation rather than a fixed promise. Label each planting with its date and location, then compare emergence, growth, and harvest with local weather. This record is useful for succession plantings and for deciding whether the crop fits better into an earlier or later seasonal window.

Planting & Care
Planting & Care
Soil & Water: Give fertile soil rich in organic matter. Add plenty of compost prior to planting. Soil pH is preferred between 5.5-7.0. Water deeply and consistently to avoid blossom end rot.
Planting & Growing: Sow seeds in flats 6-8 weeks before the last frost and thin to 2" after the first true leaves appear. Before transplanting after the last frost, harden off the plants by placing them outdoors for a few hours moving up to a full day of sunlight.
Harvesting & Storage: Harvest when individual fruits give slightly under finger pressure; the shoulders may not have changed color yet.

These have been super easy to sprout and care for two years in a row now. Very happy with them.
Sowed my seedlings a week ago, these popped up after only 4 days! They are by far the fastest growing tomato out of the bunch I purchased. Every single seed sprouted and they are growing like weeds!
I also did not find these to be ping-pong ball size. More like a small cherry tomato. But they also are not determinate. I had tomatoes from these continuously all the way to frost. My plant to did not get very big, these would make great container plants, but they were pretty prolific and the fruit very tasty. I live in Arizona and this summer we had temperatures over 100 for a couple of months and they still did fine.
Growing in Arizona (very hot!) these were the first of 40 varieties to set fruit. Nowhere near ping pong sized, more like the end of my thumb, but good sweet flavor. I was not able to trellis this variety because they are so low growing. Even in the extreme heat, they are still setting fruit.
