Official Hyssop Seeds (Organic)

Beautiful Blue Aromatic Flowers

Hyssop is a woody evergreen perennial native to the Mediterranean basin. It is an attractive garden plant that thrives in sunny, dry to mesic, well-drained soil. Hardy to Zones 5 to 10, hyssop performs well in herb gardens, borders, and dry landscapes where pollinators are welcome.

In the spring, sow seed in pots or directly in the garden. Rough up scabbed surfaces and tamp seed gently. Keep evenly moist and in the light until germination, which typically takes 7 to 10 days. Thin or transplant seedlings 2 to 3 feet apart for mature spacing. Plants reach 2 feet tall and produce deep purple flowers that bloom through the season.

In the fall, prune back hyssop to 2" above the old growth to maintain a compact and healthy plant form.
