Stevia Seeds (Organic)

Natural Sweetener

Stevia Seeds (Organic) – A Natural Alternative to Sugar

Stevia (Stevia rebaudiana) is a zero-calorie, natural sweetener that has been used for centuries as a healthy alternative to sugar. The stevia leaf contains powerful compounds called steviol glycosides, which provide intense sweetness without affecting blood sugar levels. These organic stevia seeds allow you to grow your own sugar substitute, perfect for teas, desserts, and homemade sweeteners.

Why Grow Organic Stevia?

  • Natural Alternative to Sugar – Stevia is up to 300 times sweeter than sugar, offering a healthy, plant-based sugar substitute.

  • Great for Diabetics & Low-Carb Diets – With zero calories and a low glycemic index, stevia is ideal for keto, paleo, and diabetic-friendly lifestyles.

  • Use Fresh or in Extract Form – The stevia leaf can be used fresh, dried, or made into a leaf extract for a homemade sugar substitute.

  • Easy to Grow at Home – A hardy, perennial herb, stevia thrives in gardens, pots, and containers.

  • Organic & Sustainable – These organic stevia seeds are free from synthetic chemicals, making them a healthier, eco-friendly choice.

Ways to Use Stevia Plants:

  • Fresh Stevia Leaves: Add to teas or chew for a naturally sweet taste.

  • Dried Stevia Leaves: Dry and grind into homemade powdered stevia for baking and cooking.

  • Leaf Extract: Steep stevia leaves in water or alcohol to make a concentrated liquid sweetener.

  • Sugar-Free Recipes: Use in desserts, smoothies, and drinks as a natural alternative to sugar.

A Brief History of Stevia:

Native to South America, stevia has been traditionally used by the Guaraní people of Paraguay and Brazil to sweeten herbal teas and medicines. Over time, it gained global recognition as a natural, plant-based sugar substitute, making it a staple in health-conscious kitchens today.

How to Grow & Care for Stevia Plants:

  • Best Planting Time: Start indoors in early spring or sow directly after the last frost.

  • Sun Requirements: Prefers full sun to partial shade (6-8 hours daily).

  • Soil Needs: Thrives in well-drained, fertile soil with a pH of 6.5-7.5.

  • Watering: Keep soil consistently moist but not waterlogged.

  • Harvesting: Pick leaves throughout the season and dry them for long-term use.

Planting & Care

Soil & Water: Grows well in pots or rich garden soil, in full sun to part shade, humidity, and plenty of water. Requires 80-85 degrees F for germination.

Planting & Growing: Heat-dependent germinator, does best if sown just under the surface, tamped well, kept evenly moist and in direct sun or under lights or in a greenhouse with temperatures from 80 to 85 degrees F. Germination in 1 to 2 weeks. Spacing should be about 2 feet apart. Protect from slugs.

Harvesting & Storage: Harvest as late in the year as possible (while still avoiding frosts) for maximum sweetness. Harvest before flowering occurs. Dry and store in jars.

Bad seeds

Very disappointed ! First there wasn't hardly any seeds in package. I think there were to be 25 seeds in package and there were probably 12 seeds. Second only 1 plant has come up.

Very Happy

I have always wanted to try growing stevia from seeds. These seeds germinated, I believe, at 100%.
