Collection: Choose an Avocado Tree for Your Garden
Choose an avocado tree for your garden
These grafted, potted avocado trees offer distinct fruit, seasons, flower types, and growth habits. Climate fit and cold response vary by cultivar, rootstock, tree age, and site; check each product’s details rather than relying on one zone or temperature for every tree.
Flower type and fruit set
Avocado flowers are commonly described as Type A or Type B. A single tree may set fruit, while an opposite flower type blooming nearby can improve pollination when weather and pollinator activity line up. Fruit set and time to first crop vary and are not guaranteed.
Planting and care
Choose a warm, sunny location with excellent internal drainage and protection from frost and strong wind. Set the root ball slightly above the surrounding grade, keep it evenly moist during establishment, and let excess water drain; saturated soil increases root-rot risk. Mature size depends on cultivar, rootstock, climate, container size, pruning, and care.
