Description
Description
Log Inoculation Sealing Wax is clear, food-grade paraffin used to cover sawdust-spawn or plug-spawn inoculation holes. Sealing helps limit moisture loss and provides a physical barrier over each inoculation point. One pound covers approximately ten logs, although log diameter, hole count, wax depth, and whether the cut ends are sealed will change total coverage.
- Clear paraffin sealing wax
- For mushroom log inoculation holes
- Approximately ten logs per pound under typical use
- Available in multiple package sizes
Melt wax with dedicated, temperature-controlled equipment in a ventilated work area and keep it away from flame, water, children, and skin. A plugged-in slow cooker can maintain working consistency better than a cooling stovetop pot during cold-weather inoculation. Apply only enough molten wax to cover each hole, and follow the spawn supplier’s directions for species, timing, and log handling. Never leave heating wax unattended. Allow sealed logs to cool before stacking or moving them.
