Potted Raspberry - Anne Golden

Sweet with a tropical fruitiness

Mix-and-match 4 or more potted berry plants for free shipping!

Anne Golden Raspberry is supplied as one live potted plant and produces large, firm, light-yellow berries with a mild, sweet flavor. The fruit may develop a subtle banana-like aroma, especially under cooler growing conditions. Semi-erect canes are moderately vigorous and only sparsely thorny, making this golden raspberry an appealing choice for fresh eating and a colorful contrast beside red-fruited cultivars.

  • Plant form: One potted yellow raspberry plant
  • USDA zones: 4–7
  • Chill requirement: Approximately 800–1,000 hours
  • Fruiting habit: Primocane, or fall bearing
  • Pollination: Self-fruitful; no separate pollinizer is necessary
  • Harvest: Late summer into early fall, depending on climate

Choose a full-sun site with fertile soil that drains promptly. Anne is not a good fit for waterlogged ground, so improve drainage or use a raised bed where winter saturation is a concern. Moisten the container before transplanting, loosen tightly circling roots without breaking apart the root ball, and keep the crown at its nursery depth. Water deeply through establishment and maintain steady moisture during flowering and berry fill. A light mulch reduces weeds and evaporation when kept away from direct contact with the crown.

Anne can be pruned for one main fall crop or for two smaller harvest periods. For the simplest system, cut every fruited cane to the ground during winter dormancy; new primocanes will bear the next late-summer crop. In regions with a long season, retain healthy lower cane sections after their fall-bearing tips finish. Those sections may fruit as floricanes the following summer and should be removed afterward. Light support helps keep fruiting canes upright, improves air movement, and keeps tender berries off the soil.

Because Anne is self-fruitful, a named pollinizer partner is not required. Nearby bee-friendly flowers can increase pollinator activity throughout the berry row. Use the raspberry growing guide for pruning diagrams and care timing, and browse the raspberry collection when pairing golden and red harvests.

Guarantee

We guarantee the perishable items we sell to be in good, viable condition when we sell them. Perishable items include, but are not limited to, garlic bulbs, flower bulbs, seed potatoes, onion sets & transplants, potted or bare root trees, vegetable crowns, etc. If your perishable item arrives in substandard condition, take photographs and please contact us within 3 days of the purchase date (or delivery date) and we will provide you with a refund of the purchase price (excluding shipping costs), or a replacement. Accordingly, we urge you to open any boxes marked as ""Perishable"" immediately upon receiving them and inspect the shipment thoroughly (do not crack open heads of garlic, we do not accept claims on cracked garlic). Because some perishable items can deteriorate very quickly, we cannot accept any claims beyond the 3-day time frame as it becomes too difficult to determine if these items were delivered in substandard condition, or if they turned into such substandard condition because of having been improperly cared for or stored once delivered.
