Virginia Sweets Tomato Seeds (Organic)

Virginia Sweets Tomatoes - Beautiful Bi-Color Tomato

Virginia Sweets Tomato is a rewarding heirloom variety for home gardeners and small-scale growers seeking vibrant flavor, impressive fruit size, and reliable performance. This indeterminate tomato produces large, marbled red and yellow fruits with a sweet, fruity flavor and low acidity. The striking coloration and mellow taste make it a favorite for fresh slicing, sandwiches, and colorful garden-to-table meals.

Thriving in full sun and fertile, well-drained soil, Virginia Sweets grows vigorously throughout the season and requires staking or caging to support its heavy fruit production. Start seeds indoors 6–8 weeks before the last frost and transplant after the soil has warmed. Consistent watering and mulching will help maintain healthy roots and minimize splitting. With proper care, plants can yield 1–2 lb fruits throughout summer and early fall.

This variety is ideal for those interested in heirloom gardening, soil health, and nutrient-rich homegrown produce. Its open-pollinated nature also makes it suitable for seed saving and biodiversity-focused gardens. Whether you’re growing in raised beds, backyard plots, or homestead rows, Virginia Sweets brings beauty and flavor to every harvest.

Planting & Care

Soil & Water: Tomatoes love fertile soil rich in organic matter. Add plenty of compost prior to planting. Soil pH is preferred between 5.5-7.0. Soak the soil 4"-6" deep at 7-day intervals.

Planting & Growing: Sow seeds in flats 6-8 weeks before the last frost and thin to 2" apart after the first true leaves appear. Before transplanting after the last frost, harden off the plants by placing them outdoors for a few hours to start, increasing the amount of time each day until they are accustomed to a full day of sunlight.

Harvesting & Storage: Tomatoes store well in a cool, dry location out of direct sunlight. Storing them in the refrigerator will cause them to lose their flavor and texture.

Great big slicer with super taste

First time growing this one and it is so good. Tomatoes were big slicers with super delicious flavor. Color of the tomato is a pale red and the interior is swirls of color. So pretty when sliced and put in a salad or sandwich. Highly recommend this one.
