Fall-Planted Organic Yukon Gold Seed Potatoes (lb)
Good Keeper & Best Seller
Fall-Planted Certified Organic & Non-GMO Seed Potatoes
Organic Yukon Gold is our best seller and an excellent keeper. Attractive, smooth, thin yellow skin, pink eyes, yellow flesh and uniform yields. Lends itself well to any method of potato preparation. Immensely popular since its 1981 release from Canada.
If you like your fried potatoes golden brown, Yukon Gold will almost turn that color by themselves. Yukon Gold is also favored by top chefs for making traditional mashed potatoes. With Yukon Gold, your mashed potatoes will be golden and beautiful to both the eye and the taste. When first harvested, Yukon Gold shows unique pink eyes not seen in other yellow varieties.

Planting & Care
Planting & Care
- Fall-planted spuds produce outstanding yields by May. If your area experiences hard winters (USDA Zones 1–7), or you tend to have long, wet spring seasons when rot might be a problem, plant potatoes in the spring.
- One pound of seed potatoes will plant a row approximately 8' long with seed pieces spaced at 8 - 12" apart.
- Plan on 1,200 lb/acre (600 lb of fingerlings) when rows are spaced 36" apart with 12" between plants.
- Under optimal conditions, you can expect to harvest 10–15 pounds of potatoes for every pound of seed potato planted.

We guarantee the perishable items we sell to be in good, viable condition when we sell them. Perishable items include, but are not limited to, garlic bulbs, flower bulbs, seed potatoes, onion sets & transplants, bare-root trees, vegetable crowns, etc. If your perishable item arrives in substandard condition, take photographs and please contact us within 3 days of the purchase date (or delivery date) and we will provide you with a refund of the purchase price (excluding shipping costs), or a replacement. Accordingly, we urge you to open any boxes marked as ""Perishable"" immediately upon receiving them and inspect the shipment thoroughly (do not crack open heads of garlic, we do not accept claims on cracked garlic). Because some perishable items can deteriorate very quickly, we cannot accept any claims beyond the 3-day time frame as it becomes too difficult to determine if these items were delivered in substandard condition, or if they turned into such substandard condition because of having been improperly cared for or stored once delivered.

So far, so good. The winter weather has "sterilized" the ground enough for parasites to also "hibernate". Springtime, Yukon potatoes are what makes a baked one.

I have been growing this potato from Peaceful Valley for a decade. It produces even in the California drought off rainfall only. The potatoes grow as soon as it rains very quickly and all I have to do is go harvest dinner. Any left over potato pieces will grow next year. In good years the potatoes are huge, like the size of softballs, and they taste amazing.
