These Botanical Plant Markers provide a professional, long-lasting way to label trees, shrubs, herbs, flowers, and vegetable plantings. Available in both zinc and copper finishes, they offer an elegant yet durable solution for keeping your garden organized year after year. The etched surface is easy to write on using a weatherproof marking pen or soft pencil, ensuring that your text stays clear and legible through all seasons.
Designed to withstand outdoor elements, these markers naturally develop a subtle patina over time, blending beautifully into the garden while preserving readability. The sturdy metal stakes—available in 10-inch and 20-inch lengths—insert easily into the soil and hold firmly upright, keeping labels visible above foliage and resistant to shifting or tipping. Unlike plastic tags that fade, crack, or break, these reusable metal markers maintain their integrity through years of sun, rain, and temperature changes.
well-suited for identifying plant varieties, labeling perennial beds, or marking research plots, these markers combine timeless design with dependable function. They’re the same style often used in botanical gardens, educational landscapes, and professional horticultural settings.

The 20-inch markers have been a big help keeping people from walking through the native plant garden at church, snapping off young plants before they look like anything. The ones I bought two years ago and marked with carbon pencil are still legible, and the removable labels can be erased with steel wool. The labels are not, however, fully reusable once erased. Texture is lost, and the pencil doesn't take. Moreover, I suspect some of the younger saints of helping the wind, the rain, and the mow-and-blow crew in making off with some of the labels. So I find myself needing more. Still, at about a dollar a stake, it's not a heavy cross to bear. :-) (In photo, Diplacus label is new. Sisyrinchium label is erased and reused.)
