Description
Description
Napa Bilko Cabbage is a versatile and highly productive variety, prized for its dense, elongated heads and tender, mild-flavored leaves. Each cabbage grows to about 12-16 inches tall, with pale green, slightly crinkled leaves that are perfect for stir-fries, fresh salads, and homemade kimchi. The sweet, crisp texture also makes it an excellent choice for wraps or soups. Thriving in full sun and nutrient-rich, well-draining soil, Napa Bilko Cabbage matures in just 60-70 days, making it a fast-growing option for spring or fall planting.

Schedule Napa Bilko Cabbage for the cool-season planting window appropriate to your climate. Start seed in a protected setting or direct sow when the product record allows, then thin or transplant so each plant has room to develop. Check moisture at root depth and adjust irrigation to weather and soil rather than a universal schedule. As maturity approaches, inspect head, stem, or leaf development according to the crop type and harvest at the preferred size and firmness.
This variety tolerates cool temperatures and light frosts, extending your growing season and ensuring reliable yields.
Its upright growth habit makes harvesting easy, and the compact heads are ideal for small gardens or raised beds.
Before sowing Napa Bilko Cabbage, review the packet alongside the current product details and note any range in temperature, germination, or maturity. Ranges reflect biological and seasonal variation rather than a fixed promise. Label each planting with its date and location, then compare emergence, growth, and harvest with local weather. This record is useful for succession plantings and for deciding whether the crop fits better into an earlier or later seasonal window.

Very good germination rate.
These grew great but most fell to an earwig attack. I've never had a problem with earwigs before but it may have been due to me growing them during spring instead of for fall harvest. So I'm guessing the warmer weather may have been part of it. The ones I did salvage was turned into delicious kimchi. Really liked the napa will have to try again this year.
This napa is great! reliable, fall variety. Its beautiful and uniform.
