Description
Description
Fragrant Garden Wildflower Mix combines annual, biennial, and perennial flowers selected for a planting with varied bloom forms, heights, colors, and scents. The blend includes compact edging flowers as well as taller species, creating a less uniform look than a single-variety bed. One packet covers approximately 10 square feet when broadcast at the listed rate. Sow in fall or spring in a full-sun site where plants ranging from about 8 to 48 inches tall can develop. Because this is a multi-species mix, emergence, bloom timing, height, and persistence will differ among components.

- Sweet Alyssum, Evening Primrose, and Love-in-a-Mist: Low and airy textures within the blend
- Life-cycle range: Annual, biennial, and perennial components
- Origin range: Includes native and introduced species
- Coverage: Approximately 10 square feet per packet when broadcast
Sowing & Growing
- Planting season: Fall or spring
- Planting depth: Approximately 1/8 inch
- Germination window: Approximately 20–45 days across the mix
- Sun: Full sun
- Water needs: Moderate
- Height range: Approximately 8–48 inches
- Listed broadcast rate: Approximately 125 seeds per square foot
Clear competing vegetation, loosen the surface, and distribute seed as evenly as possible across the measured area. Lightly press seed into contact with the soil rather than burying it deeply. Keep the shallow seed zone from drying while the different species begin to emerge. Since seedlings will not look identical, avoid removing unfamiliar sprouts until you can distinguish them from weeds. As taller plants develop, they may shade shorter components, so the final pattern will be informal rather than evenly layered.
Seed proportions, emergence, bloom sequence, mature height, and the number of components visible will vary with the portion sown, site preparation, weather, moisture, and competition. Every listed species may not appear in a small planting. Some components may bloom in the first season, while biennial or perennial plants can follow a different schedule. Evaluate the mix over time instead of expecting all species to flower together. Leave room around paths and bed edges for the tallest listed plants.
