Golden Globe Turnip Seeds (Organic)
Bright roots, sweet flavor.
Golden Globe Turnip is an heirloom variety treasured for its smooth, round roots and vibrant golden-yellow color. The tender flesh has a mild, sweet flavor that shines when roasted, mashed, or added to soups and stews. This turnip matures in just 50-60 days, making it a quick and rewarding crop for home gardeners. Thriving in full sun and well-draining soil, Golden Globe Turnips are tolerant of cooler temperatures, performing well in both spring and fall gardens. The edible greens are also tender and flavorful, adding a nutritious and versatile element to your harvest. Regular harvesting ensures roots remain sweet and tender. This turnip’s compact growth habit makes it suitable for small garden spaces, raised beds, or containers. Golden Globe Turnip is not only delicious but also visually striking, bringing a pop of color to your garden and plate. Whether you’re a fan of traditional root vegetables or exploring new culinary possibilities, this variety is a fantastic addition to your vegetable garden.
Turnip - Golden Globe - Brassica rapa (Rapifera group)
Biennial Yellow 3"-4" diameter globes are sweet with tender with mild deep golden-yellow flesh. Medium-sized cut leaf tops and this turnip keeps well. Good to cook for mashing, tastes more like a rutabaga than an early summer turnip, excellent for home gardens.
Did You Know? Turnip greens are an excellent source of many vitamins including vitamins A, C, E, B6, folate and the minerals calcium, copper and manganese.
Soil & Water: Turnips like loose, moderately fertile soil with a pH of 6.5-7.0. Water moderately. They prefer cool weather and grow best when grown quickly in 60-65F daytime temperatures. Hot weather causes woody growth.

Harvesting & Storage: Harvest a few greens when the plants are young and eat the rest when you harvest the roots at a length of 3"-4". The greens and roots are best eaten fresh, though both can be frozen. Store roots in cool, moist conditions.

I have not purchased these before, but I expect that these seeds will do as well as all the other seeds I've ever purchased from Peaceful Valley. I will be planting these for a fall crop, here in zone 7A. Our spring has been warmer than usual, and now it's too warm to seed these.
This was a nice turnip variety, sweet, good quality roots. The tops were delicious too, very mild flavor that I prefer to spinach. Delicious greens for scrambled eggs or in a quiche, especially when picked straight from the garden.
