Red Cowpeas - Raw Seed (lb)

Was having a difficult time getting stuff to grow in a section of my garden, except thick grass, so threw this out and in less than 2 weeks these starting coming up much better than imagined. They look great and are helping the soil while smothering the grass. Plan to buy more for next year, and for now will be sowing some fall veggies in with the green cover crop! - Zone 8

We sowed the red cow peas to try to combat the porcelain vine that has taken over our lower field. Those seeds set in about 4 days and started leafing out within a week to 10 days. Within a couple of weeks they were knee-high and not a single porcelain Vine has crept back through the lush crop. We highly recommend them.

So quick to germinate. They came up in 2 days and are flourishing. So happy I purchased them to add nitrogen to my fruit trees and to also eat. Never tried them before but in West Texas they seem to be thriving.

Got these seeds in the mail fast fast! They planted so well and are helping my garden! I’ll be buying this again in the future!!

I have been in a 4 year war with weeds trying to put in a lawn without using chemicals like Roundup. This seems to be finally working as the peas are out competing the weeds as described! I'm looking forward to them choking out the weeds and adding nitrogen and organic matter to the heavy clay soil.
